Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - Unfortunately at this stage closed to all water based activities. Current testing guidelines are in review and the lake will open at the end of march and have less strict guidelines which will mean open a lot more going forward.

Cressbrook
- Cressbrook is Closed to all water based activities, this lake will thrive when it re opens, Red claw will be in plague proportions amongst the shallower edges.

Leslie Dam - Another great week on our only open lake, very good numbers of smaller yellow belly have been on the bite on a variety of different baits and lures. Saltwater Yabbies and Live worms being the best option for the bait anglers, while lure anglers are having cricket score sessions on the ever faithful Zx blade, Soft Jackall and Zerek Fish Trap, Also trolling Lipless crankbaits like the Jackall TN60 and Profishent Vibe has accounted for great results as well.

Maroon Dam - Maroon is another great option while our other lakes are closed and fishing quite well. With the recent rain we have seen these fish push onto the shallow weed edges. There's been a great surface bite if you're willing to get there early enough, during the day casting Jackall Squirrels and the Daiwa double clutch has been effective. Also good numbers of Yellow belly have been caught amongst the standing timber and rock wall, Jigging blades and the Gulp minnow grub has proved successful.

Monduran - This lake has had quite an increase in water, that being said the fish do take their time to re-adjust and can make the fishing a little harder than previous weeks. Targeting the ultra shallow bays and points will be your best bet as these fish will move up onto new ground in the hunt for food. Lures like the Molix 140 and 130 Squidgie slick rig still proves to be dynamite and the fish just can't say no. Look for heavily weeded wind blown edges, Both North and south of B arm has been a good starting Point.
