Product Of The Week - Megabass Magdraft
The product of countless hours of research and development, theMegabass Magdraft Swimbait delivers unique design and big fish attraction all rolled into one incredibly realistic package. Molded around an internal harness, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait eliminates the ripping and tearing that can be caused by inserts and provides direct connection to the bait.
Utilizing Megabass’ Maghold technology, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait features a super-strong magnet that hugs the treble hook close to the body of the bait. This streamlined presentation allows the Megabass Magdraft to move through snaggy areas with less chance of getting hung-up and also hides hardware from discerning predators.
Equipped with a tournament-grade swivel as well, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait eliminates a fish’s ability to use the bait as leverage, resulting in a higher hook-to-land ratio. On the sides, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait is fitted with two side fins that act as weedguards and help stabilize the action at high speeds.
As lifelike as they come, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait features 3-D eyes and comes in a number of highly detailed pours that will match-the-hatch perfectly. Combining the advanced engineering of a hardbait with the smooth movement of a softbait, the Megabass Magdraft Swimbait delivers an ultra-realistic presentation that outperforms all the rest..
Fishing Our Region
Cooby - Unfortunately Cooby remains CLOSED due to the lake still spilling from the recent floods
Cressbrook - Still CLOSED to all water activities, this lake remains closed due to the recent floods
We will keep everyone posted soon as we hear the local lakes are reopened.
Leslie - Another fantastic week on Leslie, even after the floods this lake just keeps on firing. Plenty of yellow belly being caught all over the lake. Most of the activitie has still been in that 15 ft of water, jigging ZX Blades and Soft Vibes has been the standout for weeks and still continues doing the damage. A few smaller cod have been caught up sandy creek, the water being a little discoloured mean reaction style lures will be your best bet, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits being the lures of choice. For the bait anglers Saltwater yabbies and prawns proving dynamite yet again at this lake.
Moogerah - Moogerah is the best of our bass lakes at the moment with some great fish caught. The majority of fish have been holding amongst the flats in the timber, a wide variety of baits have been working from, soft plastics, Jackall TN60’s and spinnerbaits. Good numbers of fish are also holding further up the lake in the 6 knot zone, targeting the tighter timber areas will be your best option.
Boondooma - It’s been a little hot and cold with all the rain around. A lot of smaller fish have been on the bite, working the shallow edges with metal blades has been the undoing for most. The timbered arms have produced good numbers of yellow belly. Vertically fishing EcoGear ZX40’s and Jackall Mask Vibes are working well.
Monduran - It’s not looking good for Monduran at the present time as it sits just under 100%, anymore rain and we will see it go over the spillway. For the time being there’s still fish to be caught and some anglers have been taking advantage of the moving fish. The main basin holds good numbers of fish amongst the deeper water. Targeting these fish with either heavily weight plastics like the Molix 140 or Zerek Flat Shad X. Anglers trolling the main basin have had some very good success. Working the bout line will be your best bet.
Up the back end of the lake there still huge amounts of fish. Finding backs of bays where the water is running in has been the standout, casting weedless plastics amongst the flooded grass has been effective
