Fishing Our Region

Cooby - currently closed from the massive influx of water. There is not a lot to report for our local lakes.

Cressbrook - currently closed from the massive influx of water. There is not a lot to report for our local lakes.

Moogerah - Another lake that is fishing really well at the moment. Plenty of bass being landed fishing Jackall TN60's and Spinnerbaits around the timbered areas as well as fishing suspending lures around the edges. Live worms and Shrimp are the best bait to use here fishing again around the timber or out from the main lake points in 15-20ft.

Leslie Dam - Leslie dam is really firing at the moment on the yellowbelly. with the recent rains it has made the water a bit more dirty especially up the back where the water runs in. Yellowbelly have been biting really well on Ecogear ZX Blades and Saltwater yabbies in around 15ft of water in all locations over the lake. There seems to be a few good sized Cod lurking around also the dawn and dusk periods will be best to target them.

Boondooma Dam - Fishing has been quite tough here at the moment. After a couple really good years the fishing has finally slowed down a bit. a few good patches of yellowbelly being caught around the junction and off the rocky banks. casting Jackall TN60's have worked well but saltwater yabbies have had the best success.

Connelly Dam  - Another place that is doing it a bit tough at the moment since the recent rains the fishing has been hard and the weed around the edges is making it all that more difficult. Reports of a couple smaller cod being caught lately on salt water yabbies.

Glenlyon Dam - Plenty of nice yellowbelly being caught here at the moment casting Jackalls and zx blades around the rocky banks and around the trees. Some good cod spotted up the back but hard to get a bite. I would predict after the first cold snap hits there will be some big cod hitting the decks at Glenlyon.
