Fishing Our Region

CoobyCooby has been fishing well over the past few weeks, with plenty of fish being caught. The best ways are jigging zx blades and Zerek Fishtraps in front of the sailing club and up the northern arm. Trolling has seen a few fish being caught around reflections and in front of the sailing club using Cooby Cobba Basstraps and Little rippers 18+. Saltwater yabbies and live shrimp have been the best bait options.

Cressbrook Dam - With the weather the past week Cressbrook has been seeing plenty of fish being caught. Casting tn60s and bassman spinnerbaits to the edge up the Bull Creek Arm have been popular options. Trolling the edge of the weedbeds and  deeper points have seen better numbers being caught using rmg poltergeists and Hideup 400s. Live worms and saltwater yabbies have been popular options.

Leslie Dam - Leslie has been one of the most consistent dams as of late. Plenty of yellas being caught in front of the dam wall and the black boys Jigging zx blades and soft vibes. There has also been reports of cod being caught up sandy creek using larger spinnerbaits and big-m 4.0. Trolling has seen a few fish being caught around the dam wall and the edges of creekbed using Rmg Poltergeists and Kezza Mudmouse. For the bait anglers Saltwater Yabbies and worms getting the bites.

Somerset Dam - Somerset has again produced good numbers this past week after the recent rain, the water has settled and the fish have started to school up yet again. Bay 13 still one of the better spots, otherwise pelican point and around red rock is starting to produce quality fish, Spoons and deep diving cranks have both been effective for anglers.

Coolmunda Dam - Good reports again this past week, plenty of Yellow Belly inside the timber and out in the open water along the edges of the creek bed, trolling has been effective, keeping your baits tight to the bottom is key, the Barambah B60 has been one of the go too lures, For anglers wanting to fish the timber, jigging blades and smaller vibes proving dominant yet again.

Glenlyon Dam
- Very consistent lake at the moment, lots of Yellow Belly have been caught amongst the timber, working Blades and soft Vibes have produced good numbers. A few Good have also been captured, throwing larger spinnerbaits and chatterbaits to the deeper banks have been successful. With consistent dam levels we should see this lake fish very well this coming winter.
