Product Of The Week - Barambah Bony Shad

Bony Shad Fluro Green
The Barambah Bony Shad is a super life-like shad swimbait with a built-in interchangeable weight system that allows it to be fished from as shallow as 1 foot down to 30+ feet applications. It has two internal weight chambers built-in to house lead or plastic blocks. Allowing you to dial the bait into depths you want to fish it, without ugly chin weights. This is quickly done with a screwdriver (supplied). Swim action is further enhanced by aluminium stabilising pectoral fins and a head mounted tow point, allowing the bait to track deep. The Bony Shad will suit a wide variety of fresh and saltwater applications.

    Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - With some much needed rain this week after some very hot weather we are starting to see the fish move a little shallower compared to previous weeks. Still working blades and soft vibes around submerged trees has been effective. Trolling has had some great results the last few weeks and it continues to improve. The ever faithful Jackall Tn60 has been the standout while the Cooby Cobba Mighty Mite and Original 60 has been popular.

    Cressbrook
    - Slowly starting to show some promising signs this week with a few smaller bass caught amongst the good numbers Yellow belly. Again blades have been the standout, vertically jigging these on the main lake points and deeper rock walls has worked. Some larger bass have been picked up trolling the bouy line around deer island, deep diving hardbodies have been the go too. Again red claw have been very active.

    Somerset
      - It’s been another great week on Somerset. Some much better quality fish this time around. Pelican Point is holding good schools of fish, soft plastics like the Slider grub fished on a heavy Jighead and 20-30g spoons has been the lures of choice. While deep cranking has also picked up some good one. The Rapala DT20 and Imakatsu IK800 being the pick of the baits for this technique.

Leslie - It’s been another outstanding week at Leslie with no signs of the fish slowing down anytime soon. Locating structure off the edge of the creek bed has been productive. The ZX Blade proved dominant yet again as well as Soft vibes like the Zerek Fish Trap and Samaki Vibelicious in the smaller sizes.

Coolmunda - Week by week this lake is getting that little bit better as the water starts to clear. Good numbers of fish have been caught on the edge of the timber, trolling has been the standout to find those more active fish. Trolling lipless crank baits or shallower running hardbodies have worked best. A few larger cod have been caught working the timber with larger baits like Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Definitely worth taking the shrimp traps if your heading there for the weekend huge numbers have been caught just off the rock wall.

    Monduran
    - Last weekend we seen a tournament held on the lake, big numbers of smaller fish still being on the bite but a few anglers getting amongst the better quality once they figured out the bite. The smaller fish are hanging close to the banks amongst the weed, Topwater frogs or stickbaits getting the results while the larger fish came off deeper points and bays during the night with Plastics like the Molix 140, Squidgie slick rig and Berkley shimma pro rig’s. The southern end of Bird And B Bay being very popular.
