Fishing Our Region

Cooby Dam - Some consistent reports coming in this week, the afternoon bite has been by far the best as the weather is heating up. The deeper water around the buoy line and rock wall is holding good numbers of fish. ZX Blades, soft vibes and curl tail grubs fished vertically have been popular. Saltwater yabbies and live worms being the best option for the bait anglers.

Cressbrook - For the Bass fisherman it’s been a tough week on the lake, otherwise there has been big numbers of yellow belly being caught. ZX Blades have gotten the majority of the bites worked on the edges.

Leslie - By far the pick of our local lakes with huge numbers of yellow belly being caught and also the odd undersized cod. Again ZX Blades and soft vibes have been the flavour of the week. Fishing the deeper water on the edge of the creek bet has been the best option.

Somerset - It’s been rock and diamonds this past week with mixed reports.
Both sides of Pelican Point have produced good fish if you can time it right.
Again the afternoon bite has been popular. A variety of baits have worked from soft plastics, spoons and Hot Bite spectres, keeping your lure tight to the bottom is key at this time of year as these fish are feeding on smaller red claw.

Boondooma
- Boondooma is back! Some good reports have started to come in. Not big fish but plenty of numbers being caught all over the lake, the edge has provided some of the better quality fish. Working reaction style baits like lipless crank baits and spinnerbaits down the larger rock walls has been effective. Fish are also starting to school up on the main basin points, targeting these fish with metal blades and spoons.

Monduran - Over the last few weeks the weather has played a huge part in the consistent fishing we are seeing at the present time. The fish have been very active once the water cools down of an afternoon. Locating larger points in the main basin is your best bet. The ever faithful Molix 140, Squidgie Slick rig 130 and Zerek Live mullet have proved very successful yet again.
