Fishing Our Region

CoobyCooby has been quite consistent of lake especially for the bait anglers getting good numbers of fish, others having to work for every fish, Blades and soft vibes have worked well in front of the ramp and sailing club, the fish have been holding quite deep on the edges of the creek bed, this may change over the weekend with cooby getting decent rain. Trolling anglers getting good fish working these same areas. The new Barambah lures have accounted for plenty of Yellow Belly and a few undersized cod.

Cressbrook - The fish are moving week by week with the ever changing weather, still good reports of Yellow being caught on the edge as well as the odd bass. Better numbers of Bass have been schooled up in the main basin, working the larger points is your best bet, plastics, blades and spoons being effective. Trolling/Casting deep diving cranks has been popular around the deeper larger Predominant points of the lake.

Leslie - It's hard to go past Leslie at the moment with alot of fish being caught. The fsh have been spread out in regards to depth. The edge of the old creek bed is holding better numbers around the 25foot mark. blades and soft vibes getting the majority of the fish, Anglers willing to troll have caught alot of undersized cod, lures like the Little Rippers and RMG Poltergeist have been popular.

Coolmunda - Coolmunda still fishing well even after the recent rain, the fish are sitting shallow amongst the structure, working the timbered section of the lake has been very rewarding, plenty of Cod have been caught throwing spinnerbaits and Jackalls into trees. Along the Dam wall has seen plenty of action as well, trolling out from the wall has produced plenty of quality Yellow Belly.

Boondooma - Still very consistent lake Boondooma, The edge bite has been red Hot up both arms of the lake (stuart & Boyne arm) Casting Jackall Tn60's and spinnerbaits tight to the trees has been successful, Good numbers of Saratoga have also been brought to our attention, Topwaters and Jerkbaits getting the Bites. For the schooled fish in the basin, The Hot Bite spectre has proved very dominant, Leesagangs ledge, Barbers pole and pelican point holding fish.

Lake Awoonga  - Starting to hear better results these past 2 weeks, especially amongst the shallower water up the back of the lake, shallow running Jerkbaits and Topwater has been a favourite for some. Out in the main basin working Large Plastics on wind blown points during low light periods has been quite good as well.
