Fishing Our Region
Leslie Dam - Leslie has seen plenty of fish being caught over the last few weeks. Best ways to locate them has been finding structure on the bottom such as rocks or trees. Jigging Blades such as ZX40s and 7 & 6 fork tail blades as well as soft vibes such as the Zerek Fish Traps and Profishent Master Vibes. Trolling the banks and edges of the creeks has also had great success using Jackall TN60s and TN70s as well as Stumpjumpers and Cooby Cobba Deep Mighty Mites. Bait anglers having plenty of success Saltwater Yabbies, Live Worms and Prawns.
Cressbrook Dam - Cressbrook has seen a lot more fish being caught using Hot Bite Spectres, Little Max Blades, Jackall TN60s and TN50s have been popular casting the banks and around the Bull Creek Arm. Trolling the edges has also been popular using Stumpjumpers and RMG Poltergeists. Saltwater Yabbies being popular for other fisherman.
Somerset Dam - Somerset has still been producing good numbers of fish. With the Bass schooling up around pelican point using the old faithful 3" Slider grubs, Hot Bite Gangbanger G1s and G2s, Nories Wasabi spoon and Little Max Blades have been the most popular choices. Trolling has also seen good numbers of fish being caught using Little Rippers 18+ and RMG poltergeists have been the most popular choices.
Coolmunda Dam - With the water starting to clear slowly the fishing has been getting better with a few nice fish being caught recently using Bassman Spinnerbaits and larger Chatterbaits. Trolling the tree lines and edges of the creek bed has been successful using Jackall TN60s and TN70s. As for the bait fishermen, Saltwater Yabbies and Live Worms has been the go too. Plenty of shrimp being caught at the lake with this being another great option for bait.
Glenlyon Dam - With the weather starting to cool down we have seen plenty of fish being caught. The shallower grassy Banks have produced some big fish early on in the season on larger swimbaits, as for other anglers trolling has worked well working the rockier edges and the shallower standing timber. Lures like Kezza Mud Mouse and Jackall TN60’s worked well. Again the old faithful ZX Blade has accounted for big numbers of Yellow belly and a few smaller cod.
